The December/January issue of the Australian Institute of Company Directors magazine published a special feature report on Cyber Security entitled ‘Constant vigilance’. Peloton Cyber Security CEO Scott McKean, alongside industry expert peers was invited to weigh in on the most effective strategies to keep information safe. Scott covered themes including:
- Implied and explicit consent for collecting personal information and the process of de-identifying this information where necessary in sectors such as Health
- The importance of people interacting with data understanding how that data should be shared with a top-down view of the risks
- The fact that companies rarely conduct privacy impact assessments even though they can deliver many benefits to organisations; and
- Despite a number of cyber security frameworks being followed, at the end of the day cyber resilience is so much more about people, processes and culture than it is about the tools
